Thanksgiving in Glamis

We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends!

We were fortunate enough to spend Thanksgiving in Glamis again this year. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time. We arrived pretty early in the week and had this fantastic view from our campsite.

We were the first trailer in the group to pull in. Knowing how
busy Glamis was likely to become, I took pictures of our lonely trailer as we began to set up camp.

Wild Man drove a "kids buggy" for the first time.

The dads raced the 50's around camp while the rest of us cheered them on.

Todd took Grandpa Rick and three of the boys on a super long buggy ride. When they returned, both E and Curran were sound asleep in the backseat!

The boys had so much fun riding with Todd in the buggy. While the ride was fun, they really loved the headsets best of all and took full advantage of their use. Apparently the boys jabbered back and forth until the big dunes came and all became silent as they simply held on and enjoyed the ride.

Curran and E getting silly.

Baby Girl gives her buddy a hug. Who wouldn't want to hug that little guy?!

Grandma and Baby Girl play on the quad in camp.

Curran, Ethan, Seth, Mary, Stone and Kody decorate cookies.

Here we are out on a family Ranger ride.

Baby Girl loved playing with someone her own size. Here, she tries to give Domanic a ride. We love this little guy. Too bad we don't get to see him more often!

EBear and Allie Dog ride in the Ranger. Allie loves to go for rides, but she thinks she is a lap dog! Thankfully, E is a great sport, and a great dog owner. He hangs on to that girl!

Wild Man in a classic "all show no go" position. While he absolutely LOVES going to the desert, he does not want a thing to do with riding. We were there for 5 days, and he didn't ride a motorcycle once. Instead, this guy likes riding in buggies and the Ranger. That's fine by me!

The Meal

Everyone always asks, "Don't you miss having a 'real' Thanksgiving dinner when you are at the desert?" Little do they know, we go all out with all of the traditional meal items and more! Our dinner this year was even yummier than ever!

We had over 25 family and friends camping with us. On Thursday, we all set up tables and ate our Thanksgiving feast together in the middle of camp.

The two Randys took shifts and set their alarms to get up in the middle of the night and add wood to the pit. Then, Randy and Murray got up early and chopped apples, oranges, garlic and onions to stuff the turkey with.

The turkey was put in a cooking bag and wrapped over and over and over again with foil. They wrapped a wire around it a prepared to lower it into the hole.

After cooking all day, it was time to dig it up!

Yummy turkey getting unwrapped!

Once again, the turkey turned out perfect, and everything else was fabulous as well! What a fun day!

Dirt Girl!

Baby Girl just discovered dirt, and she LOVES it! She was covered in dirt at the desert this past week. Eventually, I got smart and left her in pajamas for dirt play. This kept her a little cleaner, and helped to make the diaper rash go away!

Bye Bye Training Wheels!

E-Man has a new motorcycle, and he is totally excited about that! No more training wheels, hooray! He is so proud of the fact that he is a four year old who rides a two wheel dirt bike!

Fun at Grandma's

Grandma and Grandpa are out of town, so Baby Girl and I have been going over to feed their animals. I had to take some pictures because of how cute Little Lady is when showing me around Grandma's house (as if I had never been there before!). When we got there, she ran straight to Grandma's office to grab her stuffed lion, then to the snacks, and finally she demanded a cup. Once outside, it was all about the playground. Too cute!

Last Game of the Season

The boys just played their last soccer games of the season. We (Mom and Dad) are happy it is over, but the boys could go on forever.

Now we get a two month rest and then . . .
Little League, Here We Come!

Photographing Kids . . . Yuck!

It is Charger Game Day and the kids looked so cute in their jerseys. I thought it would be a fabulous time to snap a quick candid for our Christmas card . . . I thought wrong! Taking pictures of kids is tough, and it is even tougher when you are taking pictures of three little rascals at once. In some, one child looks great while another is crying and the third has closed eyes! Needless to say, I did not get the perfect Christmas picture. I'll have to come up with another plan. Here are some of the (not so great, but fairly amusing) shots.

So much for that idea!

Enjoying the Fall Sunsets

We love the views from this house! The backyard, especially, has beautiful susents! I thought I'd post a recent one for you to see.

Tree Climbing

The boys were excited to go outside and climb our avocado tree this morning. Wild Man was quite the climber, but EZ Bear was right behind. Baby Girl thought she could climb, too.
