This year we were on three different floats in Valley Center's Western Days Parade. I walked with the school TPC float, Seth road on the Ag Day float, Ethan rode the rodeo float with Grandma and all of the other "mutton busters," and Randy and Emmy rode the bike around town and watched from the sidelines. It was a fun, busy day.
Ethan was SO very excited about Mutton Bustin'. Being seven years old, this would be his last chance to do it (due to size and weight), so we signed him up! All Ethan talked about for two weeks leading up to the big event was sheep riding. He even was asking for a pet sheep. That all ended when Ethan's sheep laid down! To throw salt on the wound, a little kindergarten boy said, "Ethan's sheep did the Stop, Drop and Roll!" Poor Ethan he was sad to get the 'loser' sheep. Forget rodeo, he's sticking to motocross!
Somehow, these cats worked their way into our hearts. Unfortunately, the weekend after this picture was taken we lost our cuddly black fluff ball and amazing gopher hunter, Jessie. We know that is something that can happen in the country, but it didn't make it any easier. RIP Jessica!
...one last trip before our annual passes expire. No worries though, we'll be back again! We love Disneyland...well...at least Mom and the kids love Disneyland! We're still working on Dad...
